When you buy games for the latest consoles like Xbox, Wii and PS3 they can be pretty expensive and while they look great and are generally excellent there are some just as cool retro video games out there for old consoles at a fraction of the price.
Nowadays, it is really easy to find a second hand retro console like PS1, NES or Sega Saturn for next to nothing in price along with great games, especially if you look in Classified ads or sites like eBay.
More often than not you can get anywhere up to ten retro games for the price of one modern title on 360 or PS3 and the consoles themselves are also great value.
This is a great way to play some of the old classics which you may have missed out on the first time round. Games like Super Mario 64, Shenmue and Final Fantasy VII.
Don't let the old graphics fool you either - many old retro console games have gameplay and depth equal to any new games around today and in some cases have longer play time too. Games like Super Mario World for example on the Super Nintendo are massive and will take many hours to beat.
If you want a more convenient way to play retro games then you don't have to look any further than Wii, Xbox 360 or PS3. They all have the ability to download retro video games directly to the console and you can enjoy a blast from the past on them. The Wii for example has the Virtual Console which includes games from the NES, SNES, N64, Commodore and Neo Geo.
These service are really handy as the games are good value and you don't have to find any room by your entertainment center for extra hardware, yet you still get to play retro games from all the best developers like Sega, Konami, Capcom, Rare and loads of others.
So why not have a blast in the past and start looking to unearth some classic retro video games? You won't regret it!
Next, buy really cheap retro console games for sale, or look for N64 games.

Many parents have been wanting to get their kids some video games since they were released. These parents believe that by giving their kids these video games, they will have lesser troubles in dealing with their kids' bad habit of going to the arcades to spend long hours of play.
Ever since, Nintendo has been one of the names that pops up first as far as game console marketing is concerned and has been one of the first names that gets into the mind of parents considering safer gaming experience for their kids. Now, future for Nintendo will surely be even brighter with its Wii System in line. The name Nintendo will mark even more on the mind of parents.
The Wii System is a seventh-generation console and a primary competitor of Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3 in the market. Last year it has conquered the market, was first and actually received great support from people, particularly from parents. It got higher sales than its other aforementioned competitors. According to the NPD Group, the Wii sold more units in the United States than the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in the first half of this year. At the end of this year, its sales are anticipated to increase even more, being even far better than last year.
Parents have been supporting the Wii System last year because of its good features and good effects on their kids. It was noted that their kids with use of Wii System have given lesser attention to browsing the internet, texting their friends and most especially have refrained from going to arcades to play.
Features basically include system being more efficient to use without any other devices needed, and games being better and being even greater than past console games. The games include games familiar to everyone just like bowling, baseball, and tennis. They are really helpful not only for the kids as they get a work on their eye coordination but also for dads and moms as well as they get a workout program. They are totally playable too even by small kids as they are in simple settings or set up. Kids can easily play the games. Some other familiar games are also available. Other adventure-related games for the system will be released soon. Thus, kids will have some other great game options.
Also, Wii offers legendary Nintendo franchises like Zelda, Mario, and Metroid, as well as all new classics such as Wii Play and Wii Sports. Creating own Mii character to star in Wii games and playing with friends online over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection are also possible. Not to forget use of the Internet Channel to surf the internet from the comforts of your sofa and even download Nintendo games using the Wii Shop Channel.
Because of the its good features, it has been one of the best-sellers on the gaming market and so has been causing some parents great trouble as they always seem to have their names listed on the waiting list. They still need to use a tracker in order for them to check list of merchants that have some Wiis on stock.
At present, Nintendo's Wii System has proven its worth on the market and its worth to both parents and kids. Right now, both parents and kids are after to having it for them to enjoy, thus becoming a true family affair.

Nintendo Co. retained its lead in U.S. video-game console sales with 721,000 Wii players purchased in stores last month, according to NPD Group Inc.
Retailers sold 262,000 Xbox 360 consoles by Microsoft Corp. in March and 257,000 of Sony Corp.'s PlayStation 3. Sales of games rose 63 percent, Port Washington, New York-based NPD said today in an e-mailed statement.
Wii sales almost tripled, benefiting from Nintendo's release last month of ``Super Smash Bros. Brawl,'' which sold 1.4 million copies in its first week in stores. Kyoto-based Nintendo probably increased shipments to the U.S. to meet demand generated by the game, Michael Pachter, an analyst with Wedbush Morgan Securities in Los Angeles, said in an April 14 report.
``You'd never know that the U.S. economy was under distress by looking at the video games industry sales figures,'' NPD analyst Anita Frazier said in the statement. ``Across hardware, software, and accessories, the Wii contributed the most to total industry sales.''
``Super Smash Bros. Brawl'' was the top title, with 2.7 million copies sold, NPD said.
Industry sales are likely to rise again this month with the release of Take-Two Interactive Software Inc.'s ``Grand Theft Auto IV'' and Nintendo's ``Mario Kart Wii,'' Pachter wrote.
Tokyo-based Sony's PS2 sold 216,000 consoles, NPD said, a 23 percent drop from the 280,000 reported a year earlier.
Supplies
Wiis were in short supply in January after Nintendo diverted shipments to Japan for that country's holiday season, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime said during an interview in February. NPD reported Wii sales of 259,000 for the same period a year earlier.
Sales of video games, consoles and accessories jumped 57 percent to $1.7 billion from $1.1 million a year earlier. Hardware sales rose 46 percent to $551.3 million. Game sales increased to $945.6 million and accessories gained 58 percent to $220 million.
Microsoft, based in Redmond, Washington, rose 27 cents to $29.22 today in Nasdaq Stock Market trading. U.S.-traded Sony rose 55 cents to $42.39 on the New York Stock Exchange. Nintendo rose 0.6 percent to 52,600 yen in Osaka.
